AIRPORT MASTER PLAN
Keep MSN Moving
Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) is starting the process to develop a new airport master plan, which will guide future airport improvements for the next decade to ensure they meet the needs of the community by producing an updated airport layout plan and capital improvement plan. The process will include a full evaluation of current use and future needs to produce an airport master plan that will enhance the traveler experience and maintain MSN as a regional economic driver.
Over the next 24 months, there will be numerous opportunities for public input during the development of the new master plan and airport layout plan. These plans will address evolving operational needs and future development by documenting existing conditions, forecasting future aviation demand and facility needs, identifying development alternatives, and incorporating robust stakeholder engagement.
The goal is to improve how the airport serves travelers, businesses, and the entire community. The master plan will evaluate parking, terminal expansion and modernization, traffic, and runways, among other areas, and it will integrate the Noise Compatibility Plan into the airport capital improvement plan.
In the near future, the airport will begin a robust community outreach campaign to gather input from the community, stakeholders, and airport tenants, as well as local, state, and federal agencies.
